Horrible wind whistle

R107 owners:

Has anyone else had a really bad problem with a whistle from the wind? Starts to get really bad over 40mph...

Any perspective would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

I am assuming this is with the top up
Do you know which part of the top is causing the issue? I would check the door seals and the seal between the top and the windshield.
The parts are here

I have not driven mine with the soft top up yet.

Yes. I had this happen when there was a small crack in the plastic film of the side window. I covered the crack with a small piece of clear tape and the whistle was gone.

Thanks, I 'll take a look there....only notice it with the top off, but it is most likely there, I just can't hear it as clearly. I've covered a bunch of areas up with tape and still hear it...it howls so bad I can hear it when we go under the overpasses!

Try lowering the antenna.

THAT noise drives me to turn up the sound system.
