ROLL BAR RETRACTER SWITCH 300sl 1992

Roll bar retracted switch fault # 16 is located on right side behind the driver in the roll bar compartment. Can anyone tell me where I can find instructions on how to get into that compartment? Thank I advance for your help. Harold

Sir
Can you please help? My top will not work. I have cleared all code. The roll bar port 7 gives me a #6code which is the deployment solenoid. Can you please tell me where the solenoid is located and how to get to it.
The roll bar will stay down if I press the switch and manually push it down and let off the switch when it gets into the lower position. If I press the switch down the roll bar goes up.
The pump runs but nothing happens except the roll bar will deploy if it is in the down position.
I have read as much as I can find to solve the problem with no success.

Thank you in advance for your help

Have you checked the roll over switches on the rear axle?

Visual inspection to be sure they are positioned properly, then use an ohm meter to check for 0 ohms closed position. They are mechanical micro switches, so they can fail. Not saying there have, but worth a check. Easily spoted on the rear axles when looking under the vehicle.
