New member, struggling to find parts 85 SL500

Greetings from the other side of the world.

Been looking all over the place for parts for a 1985 SL500. Anyone have a source or website that may help me out? I also would need assistance with finding out part numbers for the suspension parts. It is a GCC spec vehicle, and it has really made my life more difficult in finding new old parts.

Id like to do a full resto (maybe a resto-mod) on the vehicle. but I would also like to add U.S spec bumpers and headlights to change it up a little. I know many of you wouldnt understand the want for a change like that, but just as many switch to Euro to set their vehicle out from the crowd, I would like to do the same thing, just here.

Also, I would like to do an era correct wheel and suspension mod. anyone know where I could find that??

Thanks in advance.

What is GCC spec? Where on the other side of the world? This forum does not allow us to post links to other parts vendors. Others like R/C107 SL/SLC Class - Benzworld.org - Mercedes-Benz Discussion Forum do.

PS: It is a 500SL not SL500..

Parts are readily available. You just gotta learn HOW to look for them.

Your best bet is securing the part number for what you need...then go look for the part.

You can ask on the forum or look it up yourself on the EPC.

Hmm,

Well then here is what I need in appearance.

U.S headlights, Bumpers with yellow and white fogs,

Chrome wheel with hub caps that are color matched to the car.

Mechanically the list is too long and might be over whelming, Basically it is the entire suspension, exhaust system, breaks and bearings, Fuel filter and full maintenance parts.

I am looking to get these parts to Saudi Arabia.

EDIT: The head unit is locked, how do you get that unlocked?

The yellow boxes on the bumper are turn signals not fog lamps. The side lenses on the US headlights are parking/side marker lamps not turn signals.

The wheels for the hubcaps are painted not chrome. You only need the hub caps. Wheel size is 6.5J 14H ET 30. Similar wheels were used on other models but were only 6" wide.

Don't understand what you mean by head unit locked. Are you asking how to remove the radio?

Some sellers on EBay will ship international. Check EBay UK, DE, USA etc.
