Rear Caliper Assembly

Hello,
We are in the process of replacing the rear rotors and calipers on my 77 450SL. We've run into a problem though - while it was easy enough to take off the calipers, installing the new ones having turned into a challenge because the passenger side caliper came with two wire clips (u-shaped with long extensions out at the top) and we can't figure out how they are to be installed. I think they are anti-rattle clips?

Does anyone have a picture of their caliper with these wire clips in them? We've tried every possible configuration and just can't seem to figure it out.

Leigh Anne

How about you supply a photo of both sides.

The anti rattle clip is shaped like an "+" and the 2 skinny pins hold it and the pads in place.

We were replacing the rear calipers on both sides - the are both reman - one of them was ATE and the anti rattle clip looked as you described above. The other one I don't know the name. We took off Bendix calipers and they had the u-clip. It's dark out now but I will get a picture tomorrow.

They didn't match because they were reman'd so I ordered two and those were the two I got.

I was able to find a picture this morning! We now think we switched the parts for each caliper (only slightly disorganized it seems!)
