1967 250 SL cold start valve

I am happy to say that I have been driving my "baby blue" almost every weekend this summer and really enjoying the drives.
I started to smell un burnt gas from under the hood. it turned out the cold start valve is leaking fuel out of the top. It's a slight but steady flow.
When I drive it last I put a fresh terry cloth rag underneath it to absorb the gas. Then removed it. But I can't continue that.
Question: Is there a rebuild kit for the valve or must I shoot the $350 bucks for a new one.
Raw gas onto hot manifold is not good.
Guidance appreciated, as always.
thanks

jz

did you remove to look, you may be able to use a brass crush washer to seal. I think they can be refurbished by someone that does that sort of thing. Someone may have one in a parts bin or parts car . $350 seems high?

If it's leaking from the top, you can just replace the solenoid. You will need a small 'o' ring between solenoid and valve body.
