M117 Flexplates

Gentlemen
I get the pleasure of changing the flexplate/flywheel in
My 450SLC. Do all M117 &/or M116 flexplates interchange ? Is there a better one than another ?
Maybe a stronger or lighter flexplate ? I also get to change my starter as well. Any insight on this project
so I am better prepared. I have a M117 flexplate from a
Euro 500SL would this be ok ?
Thanks Sincerely
Rev. Buzz

RB:

What is the OD (ring gear diameter) of the flexplate from the 500SL?

Are we talking about the triangular metal that connects the crank to the ring gear? It's not exactly a heavy item in my experience tearing apart iron 4.5 blocks. It's something I questioned how flimsy of an item it could be, but I'm guessing all it does is transfer power from start to the crank. So I guess an even lighter piece could possibly be used.
