85 380SL - Antilock light after brake pad change

After my first attempt at changing brake pads, I think I've messed something up with the ABS quite majorly. About a week ago I changed the pads and wear sensors on my '85 380SL, having had no issues with the ABS before. After the change I'm getting pulsing brakes in the first few minutes of low speed driving and an antilock light after a bit that stays on until shut-off.

When I was removing the driver's side brake pads I noticed that on the inner pad I bent some sort of metal cover behind the pad (toward the axle behind the rotor) - is this the ABS ring? Or could I have damaged the system when pushing the pads out?

Thank you in advance.
