Hi Guys,
I have had my 88 560SL for 11 years and it has 70K on it - totally original. Been pretty trouble free, only a water pump, new soft top, and some valve guides. I have really enjoyed reading posts and fixing minor things myself. The A/C has been out since I bought the car. My wife and I agreed that we would fix it WHEN we decided we needed, but living in the Northeast we have never felt the need. Two things happening, we are now moving to Florida, so definitely need A/C. Also, decided that I would use this car as my "daily driver" which will likely be a couple times a week for short distances. We will put most of the use on our electric bikes and our SUV.
I have a great MB mechanic, we are going to pull the dash, and thought while we were in there, we would replace anything else that might go wrong. I know he plans to replace some parts of the AC system that are prone to leaking, along with the dampers. I will also send my original Becker back to them for a bluetooth connection and new speakers (I currently live in NJ and they are less than an hour away)
Does anyone else have any opinions on what else we should change out while we are in there?
Thanks for your thoughts.
