Question 86 560sl air cond problem

I have a 86 560SL and have a few probs to troubleshoot. 1. AC only blows cold air at the full cold temp setting. Any other setting on the temp wheel and the temp goes full hot!! 2. Cruise does not work... is there a fuse to check? I looked in the panel and there is not a fuse marked Cruise,,,is it somewhere else?

Not sure what the A/C problem might be.

The cruise control is problematic across nearly all Mercedes. Look at:

It's a great article on troubleshooting your cruise control.

hey... I have the same problem with the cruise control, and I think mine might be the vacuum servo unit. The reason I say this, is because I think my entire vacuum system is shot. The locks don't all work, I have to lock the passenger side manually, I had to disconnect the gas cap lock because it would stay locked. I am wondering how much the vacuum system would be to replace/repair. It is a minor inconvenience now, but I wish it were an easy fix.

I would suspect bad solder joints in the AC controller. They fail due to age and vibration. They can be repaired if you know how to solder on electronic printed circuit boards. I have seen the solder joints on the temp setting control to fail more often than others.
