survived the hail...
OK, as fate has it...after badmouthing my wonderful SL, the hailstorm hit last night. 1"-3" hailstones...up th softball size several miles away...caught at the girlfriend's house but thought ahead and brought "moving blankets" to cover her up. Well, my folks and many others are driving around with TOTALLED cars from the damage. That aside, here we go (as I set out to change my brakes n the garage):
My pasanger side door soundede like an aquarium when I shut it after the storm. Full of water. And rust spots where the "drain"(?) holes on the bottom are. Any tips on how to clean that out? The journey begins. Anyone want a slightly used '90 SL?

Sorry to hear about your car...
![]() We got two of the three cells in Keller...golfball-sized hail! I was installing my air compressor in my garage, so I had all of the cars outside for room...saw the threatening clouds above, so I finished up quickly and got the cars inside. The VW stays outside, and it survived w/o a scratch. I guess the thicker metal used in those days allowed it to withstand the hail...my neighbor's car didn't fare as well...
