380SL Duplicate Key - Get Where & How Much?
I only have one key for my 1985 380SL. Can anyone here tell me where to get a second one made and how much should I expect to pay for it?
Thank you. |

The Dealer, around $20-$25.

I recently paid $20 for a 1992 key at the dealer, which surprisingly was a little cheaper than to have the local locksmith make one up. The dealer will need proof that you own the car. I must have timed it just right but turnaround was less than 24 hours.

I paid that or less for a key for my '89 560SL at the dealer. They made a copy of the key I had while I waited.

I've been finding the dealer to be the same price or cheaper as well. I asked one locksmith why the same price as the dealership, which was a two blocks away, and he said (in a nasty way) he had to pay for the special cutting machine somehow.......and I said see ya.
