I don't think so...

the rims depth won't accomodate the lip of the wheel covers...and the center hub protrudes too much...

Is SL FOR SALE secretly restoring his SL on this thread? Wishing for different wheels on your SL is a sign of falling in love. It can't be!

I am trying to update it in the hopes of an easier sale. Otherwise I am stuck with it. To me, these original rims are the only thing that make it look older than the 450's and 560's. They just date the car. Anyone wanna trade rims? lol

The hubcaps you are tying to fit were used on only the earliest 450 SL's ('73-'75??).

Your rims were used on most of the 450 SL's and all 380 SL's.

The newer rims, I think they are called 15 hole rims, were used on 560 SL's.

When people want to upgrade or modernize the look of the rims on their 450 or 380 SL, they always intall these 15 hole rims.

I'm sure they are sold on www.thetirerack.com

I just found them.

They are called ASA type 15.

The original size is 15 x 7".

The original finish is paitned silver, and they go for $109 each.

Most owners like the look of the chrome wheels, and they sell for $215 each.

There will be no problem fitting the rims to the car, but you will also need new tires for the 15" rims and a different set of lug bolts.

Luke at The Tire Rack is the moderator of the Wheels and Tires Forum.

He could help you with everything.

He even sells the lug bolts as well as the Mercedes star logo center caps.
