WTB 124 heated W/S washer tank
I saw a late E300D (94 or 95?) with a heated windshield washer reservoir once now I want one (the tank, not the car!)
Does anyone have one or know the MB p/n? I hate to pester the parts man at the Dealer and I don't have a EPC to find the p/n. Since I need a tank I figured I would get the heated one. I remember the time I had a frozen W/S washer tank in West Texas There is a nice supply of hot water at the nearby diesel fuel thermostat in my '87 300D so it would make connecting it up real easy!

Are you sure you don't already have a heated washer tank?
I worked on an 87 300D a couple of months ago and as I recall it had a heated washer fluid tank. I know it had electrically heated washer supply lines and electrically heated nozzles. |

Besides I don't have the tank it was crusty and had a hole in it so I threw it out.

I also cheked the dealer EPC and see that the heater simply drops into the tank at the fill opening, so I guess I am nowlooking for the heater which is a coil of small dia pipe coiled up and held onto the cap, with two spigots for heated water to circulate. Anyone?

If it's to be like my 1990 300E, you will also need the special heater hoses with the pigtail connections that supply and return from the heating coil in the washer tank. And, this is just my opinion but unless you live in a cold climate, this setup only serves to boil the washer fluid level down during warm weather. I have to add monthly even when I don't use the washer often. Of course, heated fluid is nice when the windshield is icy. I'm toying with the notion of a small manual needle valve in the heating coil so I can block the flow of "coolant" in summer.

I need to remove my tank so that I can reattach some bolts to the intake manifold. (Throttle linkages.) How did you get the tank out of there?

disconnect the electrical lines to the tank (level sensor) and if its empty pull the pumps, they plug into a rubber drommet that will probably need to be replaced too when you go to put them back. The tank lifts straight up out of the bracket that mounts it
