I agree with the fact you and Joe need to work this out alone! I also think that if you guys hooked up at this board and if one of you did'nt followed thru on ones end of the bargain, someone would be back here raisin' hell! Kinda like ebay. Both parties must be professional and accurate or someone is gonna get exposed. Bad feedback. Embarassing isn't it?

Personally, I would think paying for shipping back would be approprate.

The system of peer-to-peer Internet commerce relies to a large extent on some form of feedback on transactions. Mistakes and misunderstandings happen, at which point the best thing the seller can do is to cut the loss and try to make the customer happy.

That is, if the seller wants to continue to do business.

It helps to reduce misunderstandings on item descriptions when a picture can be made available. If that is not possible, as accurate a description as possible is warrented.

Do not think in these days of easy electronic communications that someone won't complain if you screw them. You can get away with it one time (or maybe a few times as in multiple auctions on EBay) but after that you're ruined.

With each passing day, and each additional comment that you're not in a hurry to correct the problem, you are losing potential customers.

I was one of your potential customers. Emphasis on "was".

How much business have you now lost over this issue? You could have turned around and sold the bumper to someone else, perhaps. Not so easy now, is it?

Correct the problem as quickly as you can, and you may begin to win back some of the "risk taker" customers. Treat them well and you may eventually get more sales. You'd have a hard time getting me back as a potential customer now - maybe others would be more willing......

Morally, I think you owe the $120 AND shipping. In reality, I will accept $120 and write it off as a bad experience. If I receive the $120 this week, I will not bring up the subject of the shipping charges again. You have my word. I will compromise to end this sorry exchange and this waste of space on the board.

As for Western Union, there does not appear to be a Western Union office in our community. I think the easiest way would be to send me a postal money order to my home address:

I think Donkey should pay whatever amount that was originally agreed by both parties - whether or not the sum included shipment or otherwise. We ought not to judge what he ought to pay on top of what has been agreed.

Just send the agreed sum over, whether by wire or cheque or otherwise.

And please, do honour all representations and dealings in future ... without excuses.

Donkey,
Actions speak louder than words! on the flip side I have had great success in dealing with members of Mercedesshop. Don't let this thread put a bad rap on Mercedesshop trade. I have solid positive feedback on Ebay due to taking a few minutes to inform my customers EXACTLY what their purchasing. then I follow up to make sure their satisfied. Unorganization is pure laziness.

look up the word

donkey

Reasonability: The ability to respond.

At the out set of this conflict you had three choices or routes to peruse.
1.) Refund the money promptly and take responsibility for the misunderstanding.
2.) Disappear never to be heard from again.
3.) Change the way the world works to suit you.

You continue to choose three even though you are not making any progress. What you really want is for the world to accept your lack of reasonability rather then change.

“then all you can say Im slow & unmotivated right?”

Are the words you choose that really mean I’m not very responsible We all know this from the way you have conducted yourself… the question is do you know it.
Now one more time you have figured out a clever way to piss everyone off with this western union crap. You are not going to change the world anymore then make the rust holes disappear from the bumper. If you want to control a situation you need to control yourself in a responsible way. Routes 1 and 2 you have control… route 3 your out of control.

PA Joe said it so well.

Why you can't just send a postal money order I can't imagine. I suppose it's the next version of do it Donkey's way, or get screwed.

If I have to select a place to receive money from Western Union, I pick Schnuck's. I have never been wired money, so tell me when you do it and what I'm supposed to do to claim the money.

I have just done some checking and discovered that claiming money from Western Union is a hassle. There is a page-long form to be filled out. I will need to know:

1) When you send it.

2) Your complete name and address. So far,
this has been information that you have been reluctant to reveal.

Please so advise promptly after you send the money. I truly hope you have not selected this strange mode of payment to make it difficult for me to claim the money, so you can reclaim it at a later date.

I await your reply.

Joe....just be aware that a money order can have a stop payment on it. I would opt him to send you a certified bank check.....of course he would have to "pay" for this type of check.......
