FS: Old School AMG 16x7.5" ET40 Aero I's *rare*
Since there is no introduction portion of this site I figured I would do it here as I post this ad. My name is Billy and I am located in DFW, TX. I came to this site because I talked with Rahulio1989300E after seeing his set of 17" Aero's on our local Craigslist. I currently don't own a Mercedes automobile. Hopefully sometime next year I will be able to purchase a W211 E55 or a R129 but we'll see. I currently am swapping a 2.7t and RS4 turbos into my B5 Audi and also working on an E30 project as well.
I have collected quite a few sets of rare and interesting Mercedes/AMG wheels over the past few years. Most of which I found and purchased by tire shops and owners who upgraded their wheels not knowing the rarity and class the wheels possessed. Over time it has been a little difficult to sell the sets as many people don't know much about the prestige and history of AMG and Mercedes-Benz. I think there are more serious buyers and collectors on this site than most I have seen. Here are a couple rare sets I've had before the ad starts... 18x8 AMG Aero 2pc BBS ET44 18x8.5 / 18x10 AMG Monoblock 2pc BBS ET25 *If this intro needs to be moved and ad taken down, I understand. I did read the classifieds post saying it "can" be removed... Up for sale is my set of very rare, original, pre-Mercedes-merger AMG Aero 1 wheels. Also know as "hammer" wheels, this set is 16x7.5" with an offset of 40mm. These wheels will fit W201s, W124s, and W202s. These will fit old school "12mm lugs" and modern Mercedes vehicles "14mm lugs". These will also bolt right up to Audi and Volkswagens with hubrings which can be had easy and cheaply on eBay and other sources for around $10. Pre-merger wheels are fairly hard to come by. Most popular being the Pentas and the 16-17" Aero wheels. These are easily recognized by the three lonesome "AMG" letters instead of the merger "////AMG". The set was recently stripped and powdercoated an OEM silver. They are in good condition and haven't been mounted since they were refinished. These wheels are straight and true, no bends, cracks or repairs. One of the wheels was in rougher shape than the rest and still suffers a little gouge and minor pitting. The pictures speak for themselves, as a set they look good. If you would like the one wheel or any others refinished (after repaired, if desired) or recolored, any color, I can put you in contact with the guy who refinished them or have them refinished on my time at extra cost. Down time for a refinish is a week and a half. They come with a set of original centercaps, which were color matched long ago but stripped. These wheels take standard Mercedes-Benz and AMG centercaps. Brand: AMG Maker: O.Z. Build date: June 1989 Style: Aero style Monoblock Type: 2801A Lug Pattern: 5x112 Offset: 40mm Max bolt size: 14mm Hub size: 66.6mm $450 pre-xmas special PM me or ask here about shipping to your area. Local would be best but shipping is alright.

No critique - trying to help. These ET40 wheels will fit w201s, w124s, and w202s - not the w126s. And $650 for a set that looks that good is worth it. GLWS.
PS - I love that first set in your pics.

Thanks for the information, I will edit the ad to include those models. As you can see I'm still learning what models will accept certain offsets. I originally thought this set was 16x8 ET11 but quickly found out that was not the case when I got them back from being refinished.

Nice wheels
One other minor detail RE: "Also know as "hammer" wheels, this set is 16x7.5." My understanding is that it was the flat-faced 17" Aeros that were known as the 'hammer' style.
Despite their not being a fit, those AMG Aero 2pc BBS' in the 1st pic would surely look great on a C126 great price - GLWS |

that's a killer deal for a set of nicely re-finished wheels. MrB is correct, Hammer wheels are the 17' flat faced Aero I.
The top set of 18' Aero II's are a W140 wheels..they are surprisingly light weight but you'll have to get into some Funky spacers to make them work, RE: 14mm to 12mm lug etc, etc.. Jono

You guys are correct, the hammers are 17" and flat faced. I should have said "hammer style, concave faced" but oh well. It is wild how the Monoblock has progressed over the years!
As for the Aero IIs, they were by far my favorite set. Honestly, I mount these sets to my Audi (despite being AMG-Mercedes) and just install AMG "Affalterbach" caps. Gives a unique look that in my opinion looks great and fits well (I have many sets of spacers and hub rings). BTW: This set is sold to a fellow member and they are on the way!

Welcome to the forum. I am glad to hear you sold the set of wheels quickly.
Any other sets you can tempt me with?
