wtb: w123 3/2 way Valves

Hey everyone, long time lurker first time poster here.

I was wondering if anyone had any extra 3/2 way valves for my w123 240d that they could sell. I've been looking for a couple of weeks and every place seems to be sold out (besides the ones with ridiculous prices on ebay). I've chased my vacuum leak to these valves and I havent been able to use my car since it won't shift past second gear, which sucks... I'd prefer new ones but if anyone has used ones that are guaranteed to work I would consider those as well. These are the ones I'm talking about. I need two

Looking forward to posting here Thanks!

welcome ,,,

It's unlikely that these valves are preventing your car from going past second gear. Have you verified this by plugging the vacuum lines and achieving 3rd and 4th gears?

ValveS? Your car has more than one? Where's the second one?

I may have an extra one or two, but unfortunately:

1. I probably bought mine from the 'ridiculous' vendor on eBay as they are NLA everywhere else (I think I paid $120+ with shipping). And,

2. I wouldn't be so sure this is why your car isn't shifting unless you have tried hooking up a mityvac and pulling vacuum as you drive to try and force a shift. I thought the same but my car ('80 300td) won't shift either and my next step is to pull the trans in the spring....

Sorry to be the bearer of....

Hey, yeah the situation is at first I had a leaking vacuum modulator so I replaced that but before adjusting it I wanted to make sure the vacuum system was healthy. I started at the vacuum pump and I was getting about 22hg at idle, I went from there and tested every hose and component until I reached these valves where the vacuum drops to about 3hg at idle. Aren't these supposed to hold/reroute the vacuum to the egr and transmission on a 240d? I'm getting the same 3hg reading at the hose that connects to the vacuum modulator. I figured that the transmission might not work with that amount of vacuum, maybe I'm wrong.

This is an older picture, I have since replaced the levers. Thanks, I hope I can save this transmission

Guys, removing the EGR & associated plumbing is the fix here. Assuming you're in compliance with emissions, etc.

hmm I've thought about that, but isn't one of these valves necessary for proper transmission function, only on the 240d autos? While on other models these valves control the egr exclusively?I'm going to start a new thread in the diesel section instead of clogging up this section, sorry guys....

To answer your question.
Competition links are not allowed, the forum owner is constantly adding competitor names to the disallowed category = they appear as a line of stars.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I've called every place I could find on the internet that once stocked them and everyone's out of them. Is it just the MTC part that's discontinued or did Mercedes stop making them altogether, I was thinking of calling the nearest dealership? Seems odd they would do that since many cars need them.

Oh ok, got it.

Well they were showing in stock, I ordered 2 @ $22 each to keep just incase. Then got an email saying they were back ordered with none coming. They issued a refund and a phone call to tell me.... thats why I deleted.

Someone needs to start making these things!!

Have you seen what an EGR does to the engine?
