New 16" AMG rims - What size tires?

I just scored a set of 16x8" (ET11) AMG rims off of ebay (see attached pics). These will be mounted on my '81 300TD. What tire size should I go with, 225/50, 225/55, 215/50, 215/55, 205/50 or 205/55?

BTW, I currently have 14" chrome bundt rims mounted with 195/75 tires. I will be selling these rims once I mount the 16" AMG wheels.

Play around with http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to see how the diameter will change.

225/50, 215/50 and 205/50 are much smaller than what you have now.

215/55 is closest but probably an uncommon size.

225/55 and 205/60 are a shade bigger than what you have now.

On my SD I mounted rims with a larger offset and I used 225/60. You may be able to get away with the same.

Make sure you post pics of the wheels when you get them mounted. I'm looking for some nice benz wheels as well.
