The owners manual calls for 185 VR 14 tires, the car currently has 205 70R 14's on it. Would I be better off, going for 185 70R 14, 195 70R 14 or staying with the 205's?
Just want to get an idea of what to start looking at as I'll be putting new tires on before making the run to Atlanta, if I'm so lucky. Thanks

The 185/14 assumes an aspect ration of 80, so an alternate exact size would be 185/80/14. I would keep the 205/70/14, or 215/70/14 to keep my rubber on the ground. However, I belive the 215 will require a wider rim, so the 205/70/14 is the best bet.
Yokohama Avid T4s are a nice choice. Decently priced too. Good Luck.

Chiragp,
I was in error on my tire size, they are in fact, 215 70R 14, not 205's as originally posted. The rims are original MB steel rims with 6.5 stamped on the inner face. I will probably stick with the 215's since they fit well, and have a healthy footprint. According to the speedo error calculator at http://www.paspeedo.com they are only off by about 4 MPH at 70.

185/80/14 to 215/70/14
There should be almost no difference in speedo readings from a 185/80/14, to 215/70/14. Check it again, its a perfect match.

Correct, almost even
I apparently entered a height of 70 rather than 80 when I did the original calculation. Reran it and the difference is less than .5 MPH difference. I see the AVID T4's only go up to 205's but the AVID Touring WW come in 215. How do they compare to the T4?

They nice too, S-Speed Rating though, and I would just rather not go bellow a T-rating because the price difference is almost negligeble.
I would recommend them (Avid Tourings) or maybe even the new GoodYear Aquatred 3s. I heard they are great tires. But I have no experience whatsoever with them. I guess this is were I would talk to Luke. Good Luck.
