Snow Tires On An 85 3ootd ???
I just bought this 85 300 TD wagon and the prior owner has 4 heavy duty snow tires on the car. Makes a rough ride and a bit of a hum. I am thinking I need to get new tires. He gave me 4 of the all seans , but they are all mismatched. 1 Pirelli, 2 Americans and 1 Michelin. They have about 40 percent tread remaining. I am not sure if I should just chuck them and buy 4 new tires. Any suggestions on what tires I should get and where to buy em cheap?

If you want cheap tires, it sounds like you already have some. Palangi swears by Michelins, and he has tried several brands prior to forming his opinion. If you just want cheap solid tires, hit Walmart of discount tire. Remember, tires hang around for awhile, so spend accordingly.

Too bad you're not closer, I'd gladly trade you some michelins for some snows.

imho 40% tread does not warrent mounting and using.
i have been very happy with michelins over the years. if budget and first cost rules i would go with continental as a second choice. tom w

Michelin's are the best for MB's as far as I am concerned. BF Goodrich makes some good tires too, I love the BF Goodrich's on my Tacoma
