Ever replace tires due to Vague Handling?

Well, I put the second set of Kumho AS/795's size 195 65 15 on my 300E. The first set was fantastic. The car drove great, they balanced out perfectly for most of their life and very happy for the price. I finally had one get out of round, but the car was setting for long periods, so I wrote it off to that.

After replacing all four with the EXACT same tire in the exact same size, I drove the car a little while before noticing very vague handling. I don't know if it started immediately after replacing the tires or if it came on with time.

I am going to bolt on a set of wheels and tires that my brother in law has to see if the car drives differently. If so, I will have to discard an almost new set of tires.

In all fairness to Tire Rack they tried to talk me out of using these tires and wanted me to use a speed rated tire. I argued that I had the exact same tire before with great service. If I replace them, I don't know if Kumho HR tires will be okay or if I need to throw in the towel and go back to Michy's.

And yes, I have checked the car in every possible way for suspension, linkage, shock, steering box adjustment and alignment and everything is PERFECT.

Has anyone else ever experienced vague handling that was directly proven to be tire related?
