When I replaced my 15" , 15 hole wheels with 16" tires, I got refurbished 8 hole wheels. They don't look exectly like the classic 8 hole wheels from Mercedes. The classics have very sharp edges while mine are more rounded. Also, the classics have a kind of machined looking polish to them , while mine have kind of a shiny matte look. Are mine the later versions of the 8 hole wheels--the place I bought them from said they were refurbished Mercedes wheels--I got them for $100 each.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'sharper'.

But these wheels do come in either polished or silver.
Yours is probably the silver one, I agree that sometimes the polished one does look better, but the 8-hole is such a classic..

Check for part numbers behind the wheels.

They might be fakes.

Any chance you could post a pic of them? They might be Sportline rims.

They're definitely not Sportline rims if they're 16"; the Sportlines were 15" X 7"

Lightbulb I know exactly what you mean

I know exactly what you mean when you say your wheels doesn't have the sharper edges of the OE wheels. I have some 16" 8 hole replica wheels. The edges are not as sharp, as defined as the OE wheels. They are made by TSW. 7.5X 16 works well to replace the stock 6.5 X 15. I would venture to guess your wheels are not OE.
