Quote:
W120 W180 and all vehicles between 1955 and 1985 use the same as above. But: W136 chassis all use 5 x 122mm 14mm x1.5 lug nuts |

Unfortunately the list doesn't say about the lengths of the wheel bolts (thread and head), which are the key variable.

Yes, but that's only valid if still using the factory wheels, or wheels with similar widths and offsets.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying, since OEM wheels for the same model car can vary in length because of the design of the wheel, including the offset and hub placement. R129 lug bolts have extremely long shanks and/or bolt heads because of their width, compared to those for the W124 cars, both of which would be 5x112 12mm bolts.

I was basically referring to all the people (like me) that aren't content with leaving 14" bundts or 15" 15 holers or whatever on their car and want to go bigger (and likely wider). My lugbolts in the back are about HALF the length of factory lugbolts because of my wheel choice.
I've got a few dozen bolts in my garage from w201's, w123's, w126's and custom ordered bolts because of my taste for wheels. That's why whenever someone asks in the wheel section my suggestion is usually to pull off a stock wheel and put a lugbolt through it and measure the depth out the back side. Then take that same bolt and put it through their new wheel, and measure the difference, which'll let them know what they need to get, based on measurement (from the base of the ball seat). ![]()
