tires for '89 300e

I'm looking for tires for a 1989 300E that I recently inherited. The car has Eagle GT's 195/65R15, and I'm wondering whether anyone might have any recommendations?

if you're sticking with those rims you can go 205 60. there's a wide variety of tires out there and the prices can vary quite a bit. call or check out tirerack.com. there have also been lively discussions on this forum about tires, brands size etc.

What are your priorities, and what is the weather like where you live? Handling, comfort, gas mileage, noise, longevity, snow performance, etc.? I run high performance all season Michelin Pilot XGT v4 in 205/60 vr 15 on my car, and like their handling. A comparable tire for less money would be the Yokohama AVS dB, and is supposed to be about the most quiet tire you can get.

The Michelen Energy is great for inproving the gas mileage of the car, but is not as comfortable a ride as some others, I understand. The Pirelli Pole Positions are great summer handling but short life span.

Try the TireRack tire selector guide in the banner at the top of the wheels and tires forum - they will help step you through the decision process with catagories of tires, road tests, and owners reviews.

Good luck, enjoy your car.
