I've used the michelin artic alpins on my old 1991 300E and have been more than pleased with them. They make a dramatic improvement in the cold weather handling. In fact, I just sold my 1991 but the buyer did not want the snow tires (which are mounted and balanced on OEM rims). The tires have about 3000 miles on them.
