W126 wheel width concern (Ronal)
Hello all,
I just purchased some Ronal old-style 16" 5-spoke rims for my 126. Upon getting them home, I noticed something that I am concerned about. Rather than two pairs, as I think it should be, I have only 1 rim in the size 7 x 16 and 3 rims in the size 8 x 16! What problems will I face? Will I be able to use these rims? If I put fat tires around, will 245 or 255 work with 7 x 16? Any recommendations in this situation? I hope that there won't be a big problem with the difference in width. Thanks a lot! hard to say what sort of problems you'll run into but one of your axles will be out of balance and will therefore suffer - so bearings, bushings etc. not to mention safety - definitely get it replaced!
