Question Tire Inflator/Sealer in a bottle: ok to use?

Hello all. I get in my car after coaching soccer and my front driver side tire was extremely low (read almost flat) on air. I had a can of that tire inflator/sealer and used it. It inflated it enough so I was able to drive home. My question is: are these products safe to use? should I get a whole new tire or have it patched (depending on what American Tire says)? The product said it was a permanent seal but I really don't trust that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I am a little mad cause it was my new Yoko AB with less then 1000 miles on it, ugghh!

Ouch.

I would just add some air and see what happens or take it to a shop have them pull it and patch it proper.

I don't like having that sealant stuff in there as a permanent fix.

I would rather have it looked at and or repaired properly.

Thanks for the response - is it safe to have it patched or should I get a whole new tire. I have an appointment at American Tire tomorrow so I'll see what they say. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

"Fix a Flat" or aerosol can repair is not a permanent fix. Most are latex base products and contain water. This water inside your tire can cause an out of balance condition and can cause corrosion damage to your wheel. Take to a qualified tire tech, remove tire and patch from inside. Do not let them "plug your tire."
