Ronal R9 custom sizes, mods or reproductions?

Hey guys,

I really like the look of the older Ronal AMG Penta style wheels and I'd like to see if a set would fit on my '98. I would have to know 1 - is the bolt pattern the same, 2 - is the positive offset too much so they would stick out of the fender arches, 3 - will they clear my big brakes?

So, if a stock set of 16 x 8's won't fit, is there a company that makes reproduction wheels that could make them in pretty much any width/offset/diameter?

Thanks for the ideas!

Yes if you get the 5x112 version.

Most likely, especially with 16x8. The stock w210 size 16x7.5 with an et of 41.

I have never seen any Ronal R9's in an offset in the 40 range and I am not sure how they will look. I like the deep dish look on the rims and I think an ET of 40 or so will shallow the dish look.

.....!
Following this picture below, My Ronal R9's inner diameter measures 15 1/2 inches from the bead, then slightly tapers to 15 inches to the offset dotted line and then steeply tapers to 14 inches linear to the hub face.

So if your brakes are bigger than 15 inches in diameter, they will not fit.

I am not sure who would make them other than some Chinese companies I ran across before. But I think they require a big order.

Good luck in you search, I am curious on how the will look.

Thanks for the thorough reply. I think the only way to really know is to try a set and see exactly how they mount up and how much clearance there is. I actually came close to getting a guy to swap one over for a fit test back a couple weeks at Chad's meet. Only thing holding us back was the lack of easy availability of a jack and lug wrench. Our cars were literally side-by-side.

The brakes I have are from something bigger, Brembo's from a 2003 CLS 500 or something like that. Anyway, my 16" W211 wheels don't clear them without 1/4" spacers.

Ultimately, I think I'm going to have to get a fair set of 16" wheels and have them altered to fit around the fenders and brakes. Before I do that, I'd like to see how they'd look.

Those would be perfect! I think they're the same set up as I have now. Too bad they don't ship to the US...

The old Rota made them also; I've seen a couple sets in the US no sure if the new Rota would still have the molds.
