Tire pressure

Guys,

I have a 99 C230 sport with 16'' rims and my puzzle is when the weather gets heat up or if I have a long trip, I get clunking or poping noise from the front suspension. Most of the time I notice that when I make a sharp turn on braking. the problem just came back yesterday and finally I checked the tire pressure and found out that the front two tires get 2 to 3 psi more than I checked last week which was very cold. I lowered the tire pressure and seemed that the noise is gone. The weather has changed at least 10 degrees here. The thing i don't understand is which part is making this noise and why? For me it seems that when the steering got turned to the end when braking, some suspension parts makes contacts.

Any help appreciated!

You know that the tire pressure changes with ambient temperature.

I would dismount the front tires, use a good garage floor jack, inspect for anything loose and retorque the wheel lug nuts to 81lbs.

By hand feel and make sure the two attachments per side on the sway bar are tight

Alsio check the lower engine capsule/shield make sure the four mounting screws are attached snug.

Are your tires stock or aftermarket, those sixteen inch wheels, are they Mercedes options or Mercedes sport package optioned?

I'm assuming you have not yet passed the 50k mi mark and the vehicle is under warranty. If so, don't mess with it and take it in.
