Will 2001 e430 sport rims fit on a w124 300E?

Hey everyone, yea, as the topic says, I can get a set for pretty cheap, and I was wondering if they would fit? I understand I would have to roll my fenders (but I have to do that anyway, my stock 15s are rubbing when I take u-turns) but would they fit otherwise? I.E. the inside of the wheelwell... and the bolt patterns, thanks!

btw... these wheels are 17x7.5... and thats all the specs I know...

well, the don't rub when im rolling along normally, but if I hang a u turn with a few friends in the car, the tire will make contact with the fender lip, making a rather scary noise and sending all kinds of feedback through the steering wheel. The rubbing is obviosly because of the lowering springs, so I guess rolling the fenders is about the only way to go...

Badinfo,

Talking about your rubbing problem. It's is very strange that your stock wheels/tires are in contact with your fenders... doesn't matter how hard you are driving, how much load you have on your car or even that you are riding on sport springs.

If I were you, I would double check all the suspension components including the shocks and spring pads.

What's the brand on your springs ? Are they the good ones for your car model ?

I have them, and I have almost a 2"+ drop in the front. They fit fine with 215/40/17s for me. I would assume 225/45/17s is what your looking at if you do a fender roll. However, the fact that stock wheels and tires rub....You have something wrong. If they rub, I guarantee its not just a fender rolling issue.

If your affriad of 225/45/17s, try the 225/40/17 nittos. They work well, and actually fit my car all around w/o rubbing, But first find why your stock combo rubs. Whens the last time shocks/struts were changed?

Well, I just put the neuspeed springs on, and I changed the shocks and struts to bilstein sports about a week ago. Before that the car was just as low, but it would bounce around and bottom out all over the place (the shocks were definetaly worn) As of now, I don't really see why the wheels shouldn't rub. As it stands, with the car just parked and the front wheel turned out all the way, there is like a very very small gap between the wheel and the fender, when you add 3 high school kids and a 15 mph u turn, you are just asking for trouble...

actually, to give you guys a better idea, take chiragp's car, and then drop the front a little more, I think the back is about the same, but the front is definetaly lower on my car...

BadInfo are you sure? My fronts were lowered almost 40 mm through springs, and then another 20 mm to the lowest perch height. I still don't rub, but I do have my fenders rolled. Trust me, I get my car packed with 5, only thing that rubs is my muffle pipe sometimes on dips :p

yea, im really sure my car is lower than yours. See what happens is that when the wheel is totally turned for a left u-turn, the back of the right wheel sticks out right? So when you take the turn, the car leans to the right, getting closer and closer to the back of the right wheel. So if I have my buddies siting on the right side of the car (btw... im the fatty at 6 3 200 pounds, both my friends prolly weigh 310 or so combined) the fender will go and almost touch the turned wheel. If you hit some undulating pavement (in Austin smooth pavement is impossible to find) the wheel goes up, and there is some contact. The reason I don't see why it wouldn't rub is because during normal wheel travel (or when we sit on the hood), the front right wheel goes up past the fender and tucks neatly inside, so when the wheel is turned out, it can't tuck inside the fender anymore... and it rubs... the only way I could see it not rubbing is if I had half an inch of wheel travel....
