18" amg wheels on a 1990 190e?
Hello group. I just got a MB 190 e (1990). Will I be able to put 18" amg monoblock wheels on it and it still look tasteful?
Ive seen one guy who did it, and his benz still looks stylish, but not overdone, but I am not sure if he has 18X8 or 18X9. Also, which wheels would do best with these and not rub. http://mb190.tripod.com/readers/Carlos.html Thanks -Iron Monk |

It's wrong to say it can't be done. Everything is possible with enough time and effort.
These wheels do sound very LARGE on a w201. First you have to roll front fenders. There are a little bit more room in the rear...but still. I don't think you can do this without rubbing wheels. I think this have been discussed before...did you try to search on the topic? EDIT: I did just take a look at the link. Carlos car is a 16 valve benz. I know that there is more room on these cars but 18x9 sounds wide...

What sort of tires should I get to keep from rubbing? -Tirrell |

7.5" in front...can go to 8.5" on the rear...I had the AMG 5-stars on my 92' that was lowered and had no rubbing trouble. I've seen the EvoII in 8.25" all the way around on a 16V 201 too. 9" rear may be too wide unless you roll out the fenders. I ran 17" b/c of the roads around here...18"s would work fine I would think....the correct offset makes all the difference.
