suggested tire size
hello folks
well i'm down to it. i have decided on the wheels i want / afford. they are 18 x 7.5 with a 7 spoke design with enough of the disc brake and caliper showing that i can powder coat the calipers. now for the tires. i believe i am going with the continetal from the tire rack. excellent feed back and rating. what i was thinking in the beginning was 235 x 40 x 18 but this was when i was looking at 8.5 wide wheels. i like the look of the 18 inch wheel but i wanted to stay in that 20 - 25mm offset area and not screw up the handling so i'm going with 7.5 inch wheels. so my question is should i go with the 235 or a 225. or something smaller yet. now i want to keep as much comfort as i can. but i am going with new springs which i see will lower my height up to 1 1/2". i know this will change my ride so i'm looking to compromise. i also like the look of the short wall tires but i know again the ride will be effected but if the handling was worth it i might go with a shorter tire. right now i'm thinking ??? x 40 x 18. any advice would be appreciated.
