Treadwear on Bridgestone Turanza Revo
I have Bridgestone Turanza Revo H rated tires on my '98 E320. The tires have about 16,000 miles on them.
All the tires are wearing evenly, but I'm surprised that they appear to be wearing so quickly. They have about 6/32" tread depth remaining. Otherwise, the tires have been great for 3 seasons of the year. Under normal conditions, I realize this is more than enough tread. However, based on how bad these tires were last winter, I'm concerned about putting them through another winter. I don't drive this car full time in the winter, which is why I no longer put snow tires on it. I've contacted Tire Rack, where I purchased the tires, and they were of no help. They said nothing can be done to replace the tires under Bridgestone warranty until the tread depth reaches 2/32". This is absurd. I would never drive my car with so little tread remaining, even in good weather conditions. Of course, I'm sure this is what tire manufactures count on when they offer these ridiculous warranties. I will not consider the mileage warranty for my next set of tires. And I'm disappointed that Tire Rack was so unhelpful. If you have Revo tires, how's the tire wearing for you? Do you have any suggestions for getting these tires replaced, even on a pro-rated basis? Do you think this is the appropriate amount of tread remaining based on 16K miles? Thanks.
