Kleen wheels dust shields

I have 200 C230 Sport Sedan and would like to keep or lessen the brake dust on my 6 spoke light alloy wheels. What do you think of the subject product? Or reccomendation?
Thanks

they don't fit my 1995 e320cab, otherwise i would use them.

i use them on the front wheels[the ones that do virtually all of the braking] of all my other benzes[560sec, 560sel, s500c, 6.9]. all are in virtually as new running condition. all are driven hard. i generally go through a set of pads in less than 10,000miles.

love them. they keep the alloys clean and i find no degradation in braking.

I use PBR Deluxe brake pads.

NO BRAKE DUST!

If you do alot of heavy braking, they can overheat your brakes quickly. I had it happen a couple times on my 420SEL, but only after very 'spirited' driving. The effect was near total loss of braking ability, which was very dangerous. Under normal driving circumstances however, there shouldn't be any problems.

believe me when i tell you this. i drive everywhere as if i am in germany. my benzes do what they are designed to do. as long as i have used kleen wheels, i have never experienced brake fade. never had a moment's fear of my brakes failing to arrest my forward momentum.

now, possibly if i was running a slalom course, i might find them compromising of brake performance. but i doubt it. the o.e. brakes themselves are unsuitable for competition sytle braking. especially the 6.9's. a car completely under-braked.

ok?

I just removed mine on my 95 E320 after using them for 10 months and had no problems with them or overheating issues. But after you remove them watch out for loads of brake dust everywhere, my God it was a mess behind the wheel with dust and gook on the pads and calipers. I'm not sure I would ever use them again but I did not have any problems with them.

Haasman has the best advice, go for the PBR deluxe pads or you could use the EBC greens of which neither one dust up to any degree and work great. I've got the PBR's on my E320 with no dust and I use the EBC greens on my wifes 00 C230 Sport with no dust as well.

It sounds like you have the same car as my wife does and I really think Kleen wheels would look rather awkward behind those pretty 5 spoke wheels when you could install new PBR's or EBC's in less than an hour!!

I have run many miles with them on my 123 cars and many miles without them on all my other models.

The 123 car is not the kind of car that you would ever road race with, thus they seemed to work okay.

The124, 210 and 203 cars that I have driven do indeed handle well enough to lure me into hard driving on a mountain or winding farm road. For that reason I would never put them on one of these cars given my weakness for the lure of spirited driving.

Summary, your driving style will dictate whether or not you should use them IMHO.

My $0.02,

I have them on my 300D and 300SD and they work fine. I do not have them on my E320.

I have 2 sets of kleen wheels that have never never been installed. One is for the original 124 8 hole wheels (94 and 95 I believe) and one is for the current C Class seven spoke wheels.

I never got around to installing the 8 hole 124 Kleen Wheels because I replaced them with the C Class wheels. Unfortunately, the C class Kleen wheels would not work on my E420 because of the large calipers.

I decided later that the best and safest thing to do is to just get pads that dust less. My next set will be Mintex Red.. which I understand dusts slightly more than the PBR Deluxe, but the stopping is much better.
