Lug Nuts for AMG Monoblock

I have a 1993 600SEL and just tried to mount my new AMG Aero II Monoblock rims on the car. TireRack (who sold me the wheels) said that the std. lugs from the stock wheel should fit the AMG wheel. Well, TireRack was wrong. The stock lug nuts' boltheads stick out about 3/4" from the lug well.

I was then forced to purchase from TireRack a new set of lug nuts with no guarantee that these would fit any better. Note: TireRack's customer service on my order has been less than satisfactory - bad advice with no offer to assist in correcting.

I know that the lug nuts from the W140 from 1997-forward and the lugs from the W220 wheels have a shorter bolthead on them that would not protrude from the AMG lug well. Will these newer bolts fit my early model W140 + AMG wheel???

If not, what other options do I have???

Thanks,
BJL

Footnote

Here's the epilogue to the lug nut issue.

1. If you have a pre-1997 W140 and buy an AMG wheel, the lug nuts from your OEM wheel will not fit the AMG. While the threading and depth are OK, the OEM bolthead is too long and will protrude from the lug well. You will need to purchase new lug hardware with the 14mm bearing, of course.

2. Luke at TireRack hooked me up!!! He recognized the problem and TireRack sent me the replacement lugs free of charge.

3. Ask for Luke directly when placing your order for Mercedes wheels/tires. There's a reason he moderates the MB forums.

Thanks again Luke and TireRack.
