Bridgestone S03 vs RE750

Getting ready to replace my excellent, but worn out S03 Potenzas. Looking at the RE750s. Read all the Tire Rack reviews, etc. Appears the RE750s last a bit longer and are definitely cheaper. They appear to be a bit smaller in size than the S03. I also wonder how they compare in the wet. Several reviews mentioned the nylon belts causing the tires to flat spot when cold until warmed up. Anyone using these tires or care to comment?

the 750 will last longer and does perform very well but, the S-03 is one of the best tires on the market so, don't expect that kind of performance from them ..... basically the RE750 traded in some of the S-03 performance to last abit longer and cost a little less

Maybe there isn't.
But I will certainly have a close look at them next time I need tires.

My Honda S2000 (MY04) came with RE750s. And I put S03s on my Supra TT 2 years ago.

The RE750s are quieter than the S03s. I can't comment on treadlife since the Honda has 1600 miles and I only do 4000 miles/year or so on the Supra.

The S03s may be sharper on turn in, however the cars are pretty different. Rides is ok on both, maybe a little better with the RE750s.

I believe the RE750s have steel belts, and the S03 have fabic belt that is more prone to flat spotting when resting for a while.

So, my guess is the RE750 would be a better match for a typical MB sedan.

But what about the G009?

Hey David.....thanks for the good feedback. That is the kind of info. I am looking for. Actually the S03s have steel belts too. I had heard the RE750s were prone to flat spotting after parked a while.

Love my S03s, but for the money and mileage, I will probably switch to RE750s next time.

Somebody told me CostCo has them and will beat Tire Rack's price.

An H-rated tire available 16" and 17" E-class sizes.

Actually, my S03s flat spot all the time. The RE750s less.

Costco has similar +/- a few dollars on the tires they both carry. However Tire Rack has a broader selection.

Costco will also mount and balance tires for $9/tire. So I use them for my snows, mounting tire rack tires purchased without wheels, and for non-tire rack tires (Falkens, Toyo, Hanook).

David, I have 18" wheels and need a bit more tire than the G009 Potenzas.

Tell me, can Costco mount and balance custom alloy wheels without damaging them?

Hard to find shops that know what they are doing around here. AutoPro, a local shop (Tire Rack installer) I formally used damaged one of my $300 SSR Integral wheels and had to buy me a new one.

Wanted to input that my SO3's flat spot all the time but they smooth out after about 5 miles of driving or as soon as they're warmed up.

For what it's worth, ditto for my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.
