1983 300SD Eastern CT $500 OBO

Looking to see my old SD find a new home.... It saddens me, but I just don't have the time to keep up with it.
Car is located in Eastern CT
It runs and drives, but has developed a pretty severe shimmy at ~60MPH - I suspect it will need all the rubber bits in the front end replaced.
Car was my daily driver for years, and likely still has a lot of life left.
Mileage is 325000
It leaks stuff that is supposed to be inside, but not at an alarming rate.
It leaks stuff that is supposed to be outside, but not at an alarming rate.

Dash pad is crack free
Has AMG (or AMG knockoff) wheels with decent rubber.
Euro headlights

There is rust on the vehicle, but jack points are solid and I've seen nothing that affects the safety of the car.

Hoping there is some crazy SOB out there who just can't live without one of these proud old diesels, and will put in the time to keep this great car on the road. Or... it could give it's functional components to a better candidate.

I will entertain any reasonable offer, with preference given to anyone looking to keep it driving.

I'm shocked .

Apparently the blush really has gone off the Diesel Mercedes rose .

I'm 3,200 miles away or I'd come look at and prolly fetch it just for the parts therein .

She runs and drives. Just before I parked her, she started to develop a strong shimmy around 60mph. Last time I took it out I got the shimmy around 50mph. So it could mean a drive on secondary roads to get it home.
I do have 225-50-16 tires on it right now, with a considerable spacer to allow that much rubber under the car.
My suspicion is that the shimmy would greatly diminish if the bundt wheels with the 14"s went back on. I dug those out, cleaned them up and will be dropping them back on to see if that affects the driveability at speed.
She was my daily driver for 8+ years before I wussed out and got the Saab with heated seats...

Me too sinner.... I just don't have time for the old girl anymore and I can't stand seeing her just sit.
