Hi,

I am curious if anyone knows of a good independent in Delaware. I have heard that Bill Ditmire in NJ is really good, and that a place in Cherry hill, NJ is good, but nothing about Delaware.
One time someone mentioned a fellow by the name of Helmut Fischer, I believe, but I do not recall the person's name or location...

P.S. Also, a reccomendation on a good BMW shop would also be appreciated.

Camden-Wyoming garage just south of Dover. Been there 41 years and did excellent work (diesel) on my MB and are working on my 86 bmw.

there's a good place right now I95 in MD called Dietz Automotive. They do Benz Only and are in Fallston above the Whitemarsh exit about 10 miles off I95.

call info and get their number. I bought a real nice 85 300CD from them and Bill Dietz the owner seemed like a quality guy.

Hi, George,
I had some minor emmission adjustments done at Horst Fischer's shop near Price's Corner (suburban Wilmington). There are other posts in this forum for places in Philly and South Jersey. Check pages 2 and 3 on this site. Good luck BOB

I just had my '85 300SD repaired at Euro-Tech on B & O Lane in Elsmere and I'm very happy with the work they did on the car.

Hey, George,
I had mine worked on by him right after I bought it a couple years ago. Wasn't overly impressed one way or another. Heard later from a guy who used to have a small used car dealership and repair shop for MBs, but is now retired, that this guy was sort of a scheister. I thought he was OK, though. As long as you're happy with his work, that's what counts. Best of luck BOB

Thanks for the info. He had my car almost two weeks and I dropped close to $2,600. I'm satisfied with the job done on my car. His shop is always busy with older and some newer Benz's. I have never heard anything bad said against him. Next time I might try Horst just to see how he does.

What ever happed to the MB shop on Lincoln street and Pennsylvania Ave? I used to always see a lot of older Benz's outside waiting to be repaired.

Never tried that place, but was told they did excellent work. It was recommened to me by a BMW owner. I cannot remember the name of the shop, although I think I have it written down at work. I'll check and let you know. BOB

There is a place on Kirkwood Highway in Elsmere on the right hand side if you were heading towards the city that is supposed to be pretty good also. I see a lot of BMW's outside of the shop but he also works on Benz's from what I understand.
