2001 ML 320--what's it worth?

Our local dealer is offering for sale a 2001 ML 320 with 50,000 miles. It has been their courtesy vehicle, taking customers from the dealership to home, and so forth. They want $23,000 for it--is that a fair price? Is there anything I should be concerned about in these vehicles? I have driven and serviced my own MBs for 30 years now, but never an ML. Your opinions would be appreciated.

Joe B.

Wow--had heard that MB quality was suffering, but had no idea it was this bad. I think we'll take a wait-and-see attitude. This makes me most appreciative of my 1979 300TD wagon and my 1989 300SE. Thanks for the input.

Well, 2001 ML320 could be okay since they instructed to use synthetic oil due to the class action lawsuit, so the 2001 might not be affected by the oil consumption and engine failures as the 1998-1999 models...
