Hey guys i searched and didnt find anything directley related to this.

2000 ML320 102,000 miles.

When you first start the car it run fine, then it will stop shifting. So when you stop nothing happens. Then if you get it to go it stuck in first.

Any sugestions

have yer trans codes read. probably a bad conductor plate. has sensors that
read trans rpm.
ever change yer trans oil?

are you in alot of snow and ice? i had my 2000 lock up when the underside of the transmission had slush on it. i had to wait until the weather warmed up- you can always use a pen to unlock the gearshift- there's a place to punch to the right of the gearshift, thru the plastic.
