Question 99 ML 320 Driving light wireing

I hope this is an easy question... I am sorry if this is already in the site somewhere I checked and could not find it.

I am adding driving lights into the holes on my 99 ML 320 bumper. I have the lights in place and know I need to visit the dealer to have the aux inabled thanks to this forum, but I have an additional wireing question. I bought a nice set of driving lights that are not from one of the companies that pre-wires them for the ML hook up. The wireing that comes with the lights is for a standard addition of driving lights to any car. It includes a relay and the power and ground wires and the light switch that you put in the car. I would like to wire this to the aux harness behind the drivers head light and I am wondering if I can toss the relay and all of the other stuff and just wire the pos and neg stright from the lights to the AUX harness?

Thanks

Yes, assuming the bulbs in the lights you bought don't consume alot more current than what MB uses, it should work just fine with the factory wiring, no need to wire the relay and switch that were provided with your kit.

Oops, one last hing... the wires on the AUX harness are strange colors. Do you know which is positive and which is neg, or does it mater as long as it completes the curcuit?

Not sure. You can list the color the wires are and I can take a stab at it, or you can use a test light to ID which one is power.
