ML 320 Won't Start
My ML 320 2001 will not start. Prior to these problems I heard a clicking nose under the hood (primarily under the drivers side). Anyway I changed the key batteries as well and still no results. What is the problem and how much could it cost me. The car won't even start.
Thanks |

I do not mean to oversimplify this, but have you tried simply jumping the car? Usually a "clicking" sound without the car starting is a sign of the soledoid in the starter trying to engage, but it is unable to do so due to low power. Checking your battery cable connections for corrosion is not a bad idea either. I have seen batteries in German cars just go bad for no reason one day after working just fine the day before. They build great cars, lousy batteries.

Yea,usually after I leave my T-100 sitting for a while,I hear a clicked sound and sometimes the car will start, but if it does not just giving it a simple jump start is the best way to face these problems before assuming to much.Give it try and keep us posted.

Do not hook up your jumper pack or batteries cables with your key in the ignition! It will fry your key! Hook up the battery pack or cables and then insert your key into the ignition and attempt to start it.

Does anyone know how keys get 'fried' in the battery jumping process?

I can't for the life of me think how this could happen.
