Dutch,

Just make sure you keep the top engine cover on when driving.
It channels air at the turbo to push the heat down the firewall.
Some engineers had the paint peel off the hood during development
from too much heat and no cover.
All the new OM624 engines use this ducting.

Carefull under there. The big metal fuel lines to and from the rails and HP pump are sporting over 3000psi. If you tried to crack a line, the fuel could
hyrdo-cut your hand and wrench off clean as a water-jet tool.
Also.
The glow plugs are running 150+ volts DC plus 12-15 amps. ZAP ZAP
Lots of parts that can kick your rear if not carefull.

Think the dealer is expensive? Do you know how much it costs to train a dealer tech? Or buy the required MB special tools to have on hand?

DR.D - Thanks for the tips. The cover remains in place except for pictures, to show people and to change the oil.

I had read elsewhere about the high fuel pressures and voltages; but it's good to be reminded. I have no desire to take things apart under there, except to change the fuel filter as needed.
