Changing a Brake line 2001, ML430

The front brake line off the master cylynder at the fire wall has a crack at the first bend going toward the front of the car. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? This line is a metal tube it seems odd that it would split. There is however, a clip that secures it to the ajacent line and it has broken. I am thinking vibration has caused it to wear. I am thinking it should not be to big a deal to change and bleed the lines. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Al
