Got pulled over by the cops saying that the brake lights are not working.
Could somebody post some quick troubleshoot methods? The dealership doesnt have an appointment for a week.. Could it be the brake light switch? Also its @ 52k miles.. Thanks! |

Brake lights
I don't mean to insult you but from personal experiece, I had a vehicle where all 3 bulbs (both right and left and center) brake lights were burned out. I take pretty good care of my vehicles and many of them have "bulb out" warning lights. Not my 1999 ML430.
I would expect EPS and other lights to be on if your brake switch is faulty.

I took the tail light and saw the bulbs were black and appeared to be burned out. Bought the replacement bulb @ autozone for $5.99 and replaced it. Works great now!
