Fuel pump has no fire

I just put a new fuel pump in my 1999 ML 430 and now it does not have any fire at the plug. What could be wrong? Any help is appreciated.

"Fire" = Power?

Have you checked the fuse?

That will only have power when the engine is cranking or running.

The fuel computer activates the fuel pump relay..then to the fuel pump fuse & then down the wiring to the pump.
