parking brake problem
Need help! How do you release cable at the center spliter for parking brake. When changing parking brake shoes on my 98 ML320 cable pulled in. Cable spliter has has a toothed ecentric to keep cable tight.
The center spliter is above the front drive shaft. The cables from each side connect here with the cable that comes from the foot pedal inside the car. Last edited by firstlook; 04-10-2006 at 09:30 PM. Reason: More info

The parking brake automatic adjuster must be re-set as shown.

I crawed under the truck and try to turn that damn thing and it won't turn either direction. It says to preload while adjusting the parking brake while release tension after adjustment is done.
