Price for an ML500$

Hey guys I've been looking at some Ml500's brand new 2007 to buy and I just wanted your input on how much I should pay out the door. There is one at MB manhatten for 63,xxx with package 3 keyless go, parktronic etc. I was thinking I can atleast take 10 percent off that price what do you guys think. Also, do you think cash would be able to take more off vs. finance?

Talk him down thinking your going to finance. When you get him to the lowest price offer cash. I bought a new Tahoe this way (in 2002) and got it for about 4000 less then the MSRP. The manager was a little peeved.

Any particular reason why you need to get the ML500 versus the ML350 (towing, heavy hauling, etc.)? A steep price hike for the additional cylinders in the wake of climbing fuel costs, IMHO.

I checked www.MBUSA.com for their option package costs, and the "gee-whiz" options that include the parktronic and keyless go are a pretty penny!

Consider that $63K would get you in a moderately equipped GL450.

I mention all of this since I just got my '07 ML350 a week ago for about $15K less than that out the door...with decent options as well. Premium sound package, navigation and satellite radio, as well as the appearance and sport packages.

Yea i need the extra torque for towing a boat. I was thinking i can atleast talk the guy down 10 percent of msrp out the door. I just hate haggeling because the dealer makes it seem like they are not making any money. I look at it this way though if 3 hours of haggling takes off approx. 6300 dollars then it was well worth it.

If you tow a lot, and want the torque, get the diesel. Very close in price to the 500, GOBS more torque, and 20% better fuel economy (on fuel that is cheaper than premium these days) to boot. The only downside is the availibility of the diesels is tighter than gasoline models.

Agreed. I've gone to several dealerships, and if you find even ONE, it's a rare find.

This particular dealership did have one, but it was sparsely equipped, with the least desireable color/interior combo available.

EPA fuel consumption estimates on the sticker weren't dramatically lower than the gassers...maybe a 2 mpg improvement (over the V6)...not enough to warrant a closer look...does the high sulphur content in domestic diesel fuel have anything to do with that?
