Door Locks
Hey Everyone:
I know there are a few posts about this problem, but mine seems to be a bit different. I have a 2001 ML 320. When I lock the doors with the remote or the central locking switch, both the passenger side doors lock, the drivers door unlocks and the back door on the drivers side stays locked and will not open at all. I just replaced the window switch panel in the center console. After this started I removed the panel and tried the locks with the key remote and it still does the same thing. Im assuming the drivers door needs an actuator, but whats with the back drivers door not unlocking at all? Any ideas? Also any clue how much this will cost to have fixed at the dealer versus DIY? Thanks! |

Door lock "solenoid" failure on ML's is common. Many times more than 1 will fail.
Takes a good dealer tech about 1.5-2 hrs to replace. You have to replace the complete lock as the lock solenoid in MADE on the lock assembly...would think the part would be around $80-100per lock.
