R350 air filter change
Can anyone tell me how to change the air filter on a R350. I know where it's located but I can't figure out how to open the housing. Thanks.

It's detailed very nicely in the R251 Startek Service DVD mentioned in the sticky thread above.

Quote:
Its Simple as the housing is the same on a W211 Remove the two intake tubes...and remove the front cover on the air filter housing..lift it up..then remove the complete housing..again lift up... when its removed flip it over and remove the screws...on the two covers..replace the filters and reverse the process

Okay, I got only far as removing the two hoses. I tried what you said but it doesn't work. The housing comes lose but I can't seem to pull it out (forward). Can you elaborate?

You need to remove the cross-brace assembly in order to remove the filter housing.:

I'm in the same boat, any advice on how to get this disassembled so we can pull it out?

Anyone know what the cross brace assembly is that is referenced above? I'm stuck with the whole assembly loose but unable to pull it forward to get it out as the hose that attaches to the throttle body assembly makes it oo thick to pull out.

Not sure about the R, but on the GL there's a great big brace connecting the right and left suspension towers that needs to be removed to get the engine cover off.
It's really silly to attempt maintenance on one of these cars without owning the factory service information, which is soooo easy to obtain.
