Sorry for the mis-understanding, but I'm not a "self-proclaimed" expert. I'm just a guy who has worked on lots of 463's.

Read the comments at the end of my first post one more time. Pay particular attention to the part where I say that it's just my personal opinion.
Personal opinion? So what? The fact that you claim having worked on lots of 463's makes it more unbelieveable. When making such statements about the G, what are you comparing it with, an SLK55? You claimed to have worked on lots of Gs, but, how many Gs have you actually driven? How many Land Rovers, Land Cruisers, Unimogs, Pinzgauers, VAMTACs, Bremachs, Ighlauts, Volvo 303s, Santanas have you driven?

And I don't care if it's my first or my millionth post. Search the internet, I am well known in all other MB internet forums both sides of the Atlantic. I wouldn't be as arrogant as to give an opinon on how a Bentley Mulsanne handles 'coz I have never driven one... but Sir, I know my GWagens for sure!

I really don't keep count, but I'd have to say I've driven at least a few dozen over the years. In fact, I've got one here right now. It's got a noisy Kompressor clutch. When I took it for a test drive this morning I was reminded how much I dislike the ride of these beasts.

None, sorry.

Please accept my sincerest apology. If I've offended you in any way, I'm truly sorry. If I had known that you were an international celebrity I would have chosen my words more carefully.

Arrogant? So you're saying that I'm arrogant because I'm not a G-Wagen fan, or because I had the nerve to voice my opinion? How about we agree to disagree. This is getting kind if ridiculous.

Depending on which year G55 it is, you could be 100% justified in your complaint. The early G55's were way too stiff. However, MB fixed that in the last couple of model years.

My 1984 280GE and my 2000 G500 both ride as well as my 2007 ML320CDI; and I wouldn't hesitate to take any of the three on a cross country trip.

However, there is absolutely no doubt that the G's are love 'em or hate 'em vehicle; and I happen to fall into the former category. I just wish MBUSA would bring them in as a diesel!

Well G Wagens are built to excel off road and not on so a casual drive on your average tarmac would not tell you anything about its superhuman capabilities off road. Unfair to comment and make a comparison.

That is the problem... you have never driven an all wheel drive truck and yet you dare to critizise the ride of the G-Wagen. Nuff said then....
